About Us

he purpose of Environmental-Law.org is to categorize environmental topics and information available on the Internet according to subject matter.  The hope is to facilitate research by lawyers and non-lawyers alike. The goal is also to assist people interested in making themselves more knowledgeable on a variety of topics.

In an effort to realize this goal, resources will be gathered and provided, not only on a variety of topics, but from various viewpoints.  After all, it should be apparent that there are clear and reasonable disagreements on the topic of environmental law.  Because of this, the subjective information mentioned above will be used to supplement access to objective sources of information – mainly statutes and case law.  Federal and State laws have various requirements and are enforced by various agencies, many with differing strategies and views of particular problems.

We encourage research into any issue of interest and suggest that each user take some time to understand the view point of persons with opposing views.  It is easy to categorize environmental problems in terms of right and wrong, however, the middle ground is often ignored and needs to be understood before we can protect the environment as stewards for generations to come.  In an effort to fulfill this need, we will endeavor to provide information from various points of view, especially reasonable points of view where we disagree with the proponent, for it is this person that we must engage and educate or, alternatively, who can educate us.
